OUD am Main

Oud am Main plays both oriental and western music and lets listeners share in a mixture of the two musical traditions and everything in between.

The instrument "Al Oud" produces a sound that is saturated with melodic maqams. The guitar in turn represents the polyphonic vertical dimension of sound. The sound of these two equal-voiced instruments mingles to form an acoustic multi-dimensional unit that is very harmonious, though the two instruments have very different playing techniques.

Between guitar and oud are numerous countries, civilizations, cultures and peoples - and of course a fascinating music tradition and a magnificent amount of music and emotions!
